Old Weathered Door

I have a fascination with doors. This antique, weathered wood door caught my eye in my travels this past weekend. It's from the Colonial times, but would look great as the entrance to a carriage house.

March in New England

This photo of the beautiful beaches of Cape Cod will remind me of the glorious weather New England had experienced the past couple of weeks. March temps. were in the 70's and even low 80's! We were breaking records all over the place. Our early spring flowers have started blooming!  Everyone was getting the shorts and flip flops out. We all know the old saying, "if you don't like the weather, wait 15 minutes!".... Yes, we all knew it wouldn't last.

A simple photo like this can remind me of this crazy, unusual winter we've had and provide the backdrop for stories we will all tell in years to come about the Winter of 2012!

Getting My Photos Under Control!

It was not too long ago that I was feeling completely overwhelmed with my personal family photos. I found myself in the position of being the unofficial family historian on both sides of my family.

What was I to do with the piles and piles of photos, old books, certificates, family tree pages, and memorabilia that had found its way into my possession?

I did some research on the internet and I discovered that with a good plan, a healthy dose of patience, and a positive attitude to take one day at a time - I could get a handle on this situation!

Along the way, I found myself enjoying this process more and more. It's been very rewarding and I love the fact that I am streamlining my family's history in pictures.
