Cape Cod Painting

I went to take photos for the Church Art Sale, and walked out with an original by a talented local artist, Inez Faillace. Here she is with Fr. McHugh next to my newly acquired painting of going over the Bourne Bridge onto the Cape. A bridge I've been traveling for years to see my parents in Marstons Mills. They have been talking of selling for years, but I sure hope it isn't this one!!

Barns around the Valley

I am drawn to barns like a magnet. My Mom still can't believe I don't live in the country surrounded by horses and meadows, as I used to tell her I would end up.  I get too itchy with too much quiet, but I love to take photos of these idyllic scenes.

Vintage Shadow Box

I made this shadow box of my grandparent's years ago. The watch and lace is Mammie's. The ceramic bird is my favorite memento from Papa, and the wedding photo reminds me that I chose to marry my husband on their 55th Wedding Anniversary - 11/11/84.

This is one way to enjoy vintage photos....

Weeding Out Feels So Good...

School Vacation week. This is my first April Break with NO KIDS at home. It is quiet and lonely!

Took the opportunity to get my own memorabilia in order. Found these great memory boxes and personalized one for each of my kids. All the baby and childhood memorabilia fits in there beautifully!

Have You Ever Made Your Own Wine???

A group of friends chipped in to buy a package of 30 bottles to make your own wine. We chose our grapes and took turns sterilizing, mixing, pouring, labeling and corking our personalized Pinot Grigio.

The drinking part will have to wait for another couple of weeks - don't know how it will taste, but it sure looks pretty!

da Vinci's "Last Supper”

I was fortunate to see, in person, the "Last Supper" in the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, Milan, Italy. It is an enormous work of art that is so priceless that only a handful of people are allowed into the climate controlled room to view the mural painting behind glass. It is the only work of art in the room.

I am reminded of my time there on this Holy Thursday of 2012.
